Rowing Update

So, I decided yesterday that University rowing wasn't for me. I love the team, the coach, and the girls, but I came here to travel, study, meet people, and volunteer (a requirement of my Rotary scholarship which I am excited about). I decided rowing for the University would take up too much of my time (2 practices a day, 7 days a week, for 6 months straight) and prevent me from making the most of my year abroad. So, this morning I decided to tell my coach (Trish) and the captain (Harriet) and since I'm such a pushover they convinced me to stay another week. They said next week will be different and they would hate to see me go - I have such potential. Long story short, I'll be rowing for the University for another week and then I'll rethink my decision. Although by then, they'll probably have my soul and I won't be able to leave, but I can hope.

Oh Cate, I'm glad that you decided to give rowing “just” another week of your time. If nothing else, you’ll be able to honestly say “I rowed for Cambridge”. To Cool.
